Its just a flawed thought process they have all bought into, the same kind of flawed thought process that allowed what were probably many decent Germans to go along with the Nazi regime, or allow people to rationalize killing innocent people in the name of a cause. JW's have allowed themselves to be taught a twisted thought process that reduces all non-JW's to almost non-personhood.

Where Is The Ultimate Truth Found?
by JamesThomas inthere is much discussion here about the bible.
some might see that after hundreds of years of argument and controversy no two people interpret the damn thing exactly the same, and so they have acquired the wisdom to abandon it.
there is a story which goes like this: .

The mental gymnastics are all well and good and I enjoy them as much as the next, but at the end of the day, I just want to be.

30 years ago TODAY - 7-June-1975
by BrendaCloutier ini got married to my jw husband.
my own personal armageddon began.
this i call the second biggest regret of my life.

Brenda, very moving story, it never ceases to amaze me the things people have to endure due to a warped belief system. And what's so tragic about it is that it is so unneccesary, its not like you were born in a desperate 3rd world country, torn by war or famine. That people impose this sort of thing on themselves and their children is just so sad. I am so glad you escaped and have salvaged your life, I pity all those who have not been so lucky.

Do you ever think that you will stop JW-bashing and get on with your life?
by booker-t ini was recently talking to a girl in my psychology class who told me that she use to be a jw and was df'd in the mid 1990's.
this girl shocked me because usually ex-jws are so unhappy and miserable and spend most of their time complaining about the "evil" wt society.
she told me that when she was df'd alot of ex-jws swarmed towards her trying to get her to "bash" the wt but she refused.

I guess we should all stop carping about politics, global warming, child abuse, alcoholism, war, unemployment, etc. and just get on with our lives, right?
Many people here don't see the WTBS as just a lifestyle choice, they see it as a destructive cult and until something is done about it they feel the need to have dialogue regarding it in the same way there are boards, groups, and forums for just about every other problem people are dealing with.

Explain you religion/beliefs in a nutshell
by devinsmom inlately i have been pondering my lack of a belief system.
i think that being a jw really turned me off to believing in anything since it was all crammed down my throat.. i have been feeling a need to believe in something.
i think i believe that something created us but not sure if it was one god or many.

Does Devil Talk Irritate You?
by love2Bworldly ini enjoy reading the bible on my own since i left the jw's.
i get extremely irritated when other people talk to me about how satan is causing certain things in my life--example is if i'm not getting along with a coworker or anything like that.
(my husband also blames satan).

I was at a graduation party not too long ago for a cousin and most of my family and extended family are dubs and i hear this conversation about demons attacking dubs and stuff flying around their houses and all sorts of just whacked out stuff. That's the stuff that really gets my eyes rolling, the demonic attacks and possessed Smurfs and so on. They just love to feel like they are walking point in God's infantry against the dark forces. Puhlease.

I have an uneasy truce with my sister to keep the peace, religion is an off limits topic or I could very easily end up in the same boat BW. It just sucks, nothing else to say.

If they can't stand the heat they should stay out of the kitchen. By all means Brooke, express yourself.
